GET INVOLVED

Adult Sunday School Class

Sunday school starts at 9:45am

We respect everyone’s faith journey and believe God is working in and through each of us. We meet in the Little Cabin over coffee with a desire to learn from each other and to develop a deeper understanding of scripture.

MUST

Ministries

At Log Cabin, we believe in inspiring people to do good and give back to the community. Each Sunday we bring food and supplies to help restock the pantry and clothes closet at MUST.

For years, the Cabin has been involved with Habitat for Humanity. Our members have participated in house builds throughout Cobb County, working alongside folks from other churches, synagogues and mosques.

SCOUTS

The Log Cabin Community Church has been a very active sponsor of Scout programs since 1924, when Boy Scout Troop Number 1 was formed. Today many young people participate in scouting programs sponsored by Log Cabin, which include Cub Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. If you would like information regarding Boy Scouts or Cubs, please visit their web site at  smyrna01.mytroop.us

Easter Egg Hunt

One of the highlights for the community is our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Always held, rain or shine, on the Saturday morning before Easter. Children of all ages scurry to fill their baskets. With over 1,000 plastic eggs needed, it’s a church effort to fill and hide each one with care. All those smiling little faces make it all worthwhile!

Blessing of the Animals

The annual pet blessing is open to the community and a very special event in the life of our church. All leashed or caged “creatures great and small” are welcome. We coordinate with the Humane Society of Cobb County and welcome donations to support their services. The service is held in our garden with music, prayer and lots of love.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, the lovely stone chapel is filled with the beauty of the season. From the historic red doors the air is brimming with music and the welcoming of friends and visitors. The celebration of the birth of the Christ child with carols and scripture ends when the lights are turned low and everyone lights their candles and joins in singing “Silent Night”. A “not to be missed” tradition for the whole community.

Homecoming Sunday

The first Sunday in June is a very special day for our church. The church began on June 2, 1912 and the rest, as they say, is history! Every year we celebrate the love and hard work of those who came before us and the promises of all that the future will bring. Great music, laughter and an old fashioned dinner on the grounds.
